As outside of Japan, Gold coloured several crafts and building, Japanese people also valued gold in it’s history. The most famous example is “Kinkaku-ji” in Kyoto. Technique of overglazing surface of porcelain with polychrome enamels and gold had started from the end of 17th Century, when absolutism established in Japan. This work is based on this technique using miniature. A pair of phoenix cited on lotus flowers which implies chain of birth and the colour of red and gold are symbol of joy.
